Would you like to know what being a Marine Biologist is like? Or being a Skipper? Or being a cook on board a busy boat?
Pelican1 sailed from Bundaberg on March 6 2006, for a five week Expedition covering the length of the Great Barrier Reef, with scientists from the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA).
On board was a team of scientists, Indigenous trainees, our crew and YOU.
The Coral monitoring project is now finished but we will keep the Pelican Brain up and running so that you are able to read about what happened over the 5 weeks. The scientists and crew are still available for final questions so you may still post these to Pelican Brain. Everyone at Pelican Expeditions wishes to thank all those involved who helped make this project such a success. We are very proud of the young Aboriginal men who came on board and worked so hard to pick up all the skills to make them able sea men and qualified Open Water divers.
This project was linked to “Seaweek 2006”.
