From the Captain Garry McKechnie 21/03/06

On Tuesday we have an opportunity to meet many of the people who have been working on the project behind the scenes. Staff from GBRMPA, and Burdekin Dry Tropics who are administering the finances of the project come down to the boat to meet the crew. Virginia Wyles is an elder of the local Wulgurukaba people. She welcomes us to their country, wishes us luck and introduces two performers from Wulgurukabah Walkabout Dancers led by Ashley Salter who perform several dances for us. We feel very lucky to have so many people supporting the project and so much interest in what we are doing. That night we are treated to a BBQ put on for the crew by Jo Johnson and her partner David. It is really nice to experience the comforts of home after so long at sea.
