From the Trainee Lwayne Boslem 24/03/06

Hey all

Thank you for sending that email Laurence. We arrived in Townsville on the 19th of March (which is a Sunday) and stayed in a hotel on the strand because of cyclone Larry. On Monday we got a tour of Reef HQ, we were the only people in there because we were the only crazy people that would go because of the cyclone. And after that we went for a walk through the Flinders Mall and just hung around there for an hour or so then went back to the boat and sat around. On Tuesday we got a tour of the cultural centre which is in the same building as the Reef HQ. After that we went to the Museum which I learnt about the Pandora and lots of other interesting things.

Wednesday was the day I liked most, I don't know if anyone of yous seen me or not but I got to go on 7 local news, ABC radio and the Townsville Bulletin. It was an hour and a half of fame I felt like young Michael Jackson, LOL. We left Townsville at midnight that night and got to a reef called John Brewer at 8:30 am on Thursday. Today which is Friday the 24th I finally got to get back in the water to do some scuba diving at a Reef called Taylor Reef. We dived down to 16 metres today and saw some interesting fish like a mantaray, mackerel, and tell Mr Watson I saw a Barramundi cod which was about 60 cm long.

Life on the boat awesome, at the moment there is 12 nice people, including me there are four trainees, deck hand man, three marine biologists, female diving instructor, a cook, Engineer and the Captain. When we are travelling or on anchor watch we have to stay up for two hours just making sure that everything goes right, sometimes it can be very tiring.

Well bye for now I'll send another email in a couple of days.

Ps Cory I hope you have stopped playing with those bloody tissues in computers.

Your loveliest student, Lwayne
